Thomas J. Leonard, along with just a few others, coined the term coaching. He launched and influenced a multi-billion dollar industry because he just wanted to help people live life more completely.
Thomas J. Leonard was one of the early founders of the industry that we now refer to as professional coaching. While working as a financial planner, Thomas realized that people wanted something other than advice, guidance, or even answers, to somewhat predictable professional or economic scenarios; people yearned for much more. Responding to this opportunity, Thomas, along with just a few others, coined the term coaching, and began to create his legacy. Along the way, Thomas designed countless tools, techniques, and coaching models. Thomas also founded the International Association of Coaches, CoachU, and Coachville. Thomas was a gay man, and a member of a 12 Step Recovery program.
My article will introduce the reader to Thomas J. Leonard, and briefly explore how he launched and influenced a multi-billion dollar industry because he just wanted to help people live life more completely.
